Welcome to Big Wheel Cycles! Thanks for visiting our web site. For those of you who are not familiar with us, we recently changed our name from Discovery Cycle to Big Wheel Cycles.
I know you have a lot of choices when it comes to selecting a bicycle shop in Austin, and here are just a few of the reasons I think Big Wheel is a great choice:

2. We're independently owned and operated. I have worked in the bicycle business in Austin for more than 20 years. One of the things that makes Austin special is the devotion of the people who live here to independent businesses. Distinctive, home grown businesses are what keeps Austin from looking like every other city in America. By supporting local business, you are helping this city to retain its unique character.
3. We're friendly. Unlike some bicycle and other kinds of sports shops, our staff is not snooty or intimidating. We don't pressure you to buy something you don’t really want or need. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff is here to answer any questions you may have and to help you get the most out of your cycling experience. Whether it’s been awhile since you've been on a bike or you're a semi pro, we want to help you enjoy riding bikes. Our mantra is, there's no such thing as a stupid question!
4. We're a centrally located one stop shop. Big Wheel Cycles is the closest, full service bicycle shop to the UT campus. Our location is smack dab in the center of Austin at 24th Street and Rio Grande. We not only offer an extensive selection of used and new bicycles and accessories, but we also have a service and repair department with experienced mechanics who will handle your repairs efficiently and quickly.
5. We have some unusual kids' products. Big Wheel Cycles is the only independently owned store in Austin that carries Kettler Walkie Wheels for children.
